I enjoyed the poem. I felt I could actually see the smith at work. Nice job and how so not nice what he did to you as a youth.

Re: FS
Thank you FS. Mostly about people I have known and I expect you meet some strange characters at your job

Re: SAM
Hi Sam, not all things have happy endings, I shall have to try to remember what happened one day.

Re: Naut
Hi Naut as I told Justi the characters were real and I suppose there could be a story behind it the Smith's father was a jovial kind of man, when I was a boy and we wanted something mended, he would always ignore me and then suddenly bring a red hot iron bar down by my legs making me jump.

You are so good at this!
At Silver Dollar City here in Missouri there is a blacksmith. I love to watch him work and you described him perfectly.

That is an awesome poem. I did not see it that way but I knew she and the end would be a surprise.

A fascinating poem with another one of your 'surprise' endings - is there more of a story behind it?

I did not see the end coming; a poignant one, too! I wonder if she will ever know! sam

You have such a way with imagery, which takes on those emotional roller coasters.
