Sam, nothing ever seems to go right for you, it seems one thing after another, I am afraid I don't know much about house moving. I just thought one had the property inspected and if one agreed the price a mortgage was obtained and that was it. I just hope this is not a ploy to encourage you to withdraw from the deal. I don't honestly know what the seller is gaining by this delayed action if anything at all,

Well, I hadn't actually been thinking of moving, but watching your scene unfold (which is the wrong word, of course, since nothing is unfolding), I shall hit myself upside the head anytime that thought is in danger of drawing close...

Indeed! Another twist in the house I hope to purchase.
House moves are always stressful. When I moved from Glasgow to the South coast of England two years ago, my dad had to go to court because my mum couldn't sign the documents due to her advanced dementia. The process took six months to resolve and in that time we lost two houses because the buyers were unable to accept the delay. However, the flat we eventually got turned out to be far more suitable than the ones that fell through.

sam, I am so very glad I have owned the same home for the past thirty-five years (not that I've lived in it continuously, lol) ... I wish you the best of luck with this and hope you will soon be settled.

It is amazing all that goes into short sales. I've learned a lot about them from reading your blog.

You seem very knowledgeable on this subject. I hope the deal works in your favor. I can follow how you want your waiting and planning to pay off for you in the long run to get the property that works for you.
