Some teachers and others are dream killers. I agree with others that dreaming is necessary. Never let the words of others destroy your dreams; for dwelling on their words takes away your ability to appreaciate the good you have in your life now.

And an accountant! It's lovely to "meet" you finally. I've scrolled back a bit through your posts, and am delighted to have finally found my way here

I think I might have caught a few myself! Interestingly, my high school class has already had their 5th, 10th, 15th, 20th, 25th and 30th reunions . . . and I never attended any of them! There's actually very few people I would even care to see again, and most of those I already see anyway! I just couldn't bear the thought of answering the same questions all night long . . .

I don't think I ever stopped, TAPS

Which could be part of my problem, LOL. Dreaming instead of doing.

There you go, Bro!

But instead of a cat to keep me in line, I'll stick to doggies.

Fortunate I am, Naut, that things have not shown up before this.

I'm one of those who ignored warnings, practiced Rock N Roll, and will slide into home base yelling 'What a trip!!'

Your poetry tells me you dream too, CCT. More colourful than mine!

Happy you bottled them. Next blue day, take off the cork and let 'em flutter!!

Most of our choices are made because of need, more so than from desire, FSI

The way of life. Are you happy with your decision?

Haha - they made it home, Justi

With all those from you and George surrounding them. It was quite a reception!!!

You're welcome for the smiles, Simone!

You give me many too when I read your beautiful poetry. The list I'm referring too is not the one we make when young..but the Bucket List - the one we tend to make when we realise what REALLY is important to us.

I can remember hearing that, Pat_B

I was actually lucky in that my foster-grandma encouraged daydreaming - as long as I didn't let the cows get into the gardens, LOL.

After I retired, I reverted back to the daydreaming of my childhood.  I love it....especially in the morning with a cup of coffee and watching the birds.

As the others already said, daydreaming and taking time off is terribly important! What is a bit disturbing is that the results of the medical tests are disappointing - do look after yourself!

Well I am bottling them even the ones that are fluttering loosely around. Goodness I see that thousands in Uk have not completed last years Tax on time and will get an automatic

fine increasing all the time. Your daydreams made me recall the same escapism, wish I could do it now sometimes. Still I can always steal someone's.

I believe Sinome and Pat B have said it all. I did want to let you know a few smiles joined George and I for breakfast this morning. Said they were from the fantastic lady's house in the Canadian Bush. We knew before they politely introduced themselves they were from you. They were totally void of any malice or pretense they were full of love and good wishes, so we asked them to take our smiles back to you, hope they've made it home.

Pat B is right... Daydreaming is necessary and healthy.  When else do we get the chance to travel in time, back or forward, and arrange things the way we would have liked them to be or how we wish they could be... but as everything , I believe, moderation is the key.  While its pleasant and constructive to allow our self to dream in small doses if we wallow in day dreams our reality might look to us more sh@$%y than it actually is :-)  and that list!  that proverbial list we make while we are young and idealistic... that list where we include all we "know" we will do sometime during the long wonderful life that awaits us... We all have made it I think.  If not literally on paper in our minds we have all done it and who among us can claim they have accomplished all those goals?  Not many I suspect :-)  We are presented with many doors on our way through this life and our choices are not always what we thought at 18 they would be... but hey... it is what it is and we are where we are now .  We have made it this far and everyday there are more choices to make... or not, but the important thing is as my grand-mama used to say, to love what we have,  work to get what we love and don't have, yes, but not waist time wishing we could have it.  Glad you are feeling better Adhor.  Thanks for the smiles xoxoxo

What they didn't discover until a short time ago (in my time)

is that daydreaming is an essential part of the learning process. If you don't let your focus drift and let your unconscious knowledge float to the surface, you get all clogged up and overstuffed in the corners of your mind. It's not always productive to do it as teacher is explaining what's going to be on a coming test, but it is productive. Necessary.
