I don't like the vinegar thing. But in this crowded world
dogs and their owners need training in how to act civilized.

the trainer came over tonight to tell us not to give up on her, she is just stressed out by all the other dogs.

We once had an Irish Setter named Brandy that was sent to obedience school for a while as well. Unfortunately, Brandy was dumb as a stump! My dad used to always jokingly tell people "Brandy excelled in Math, Geography, English, Science and History . . . but she failed Dog." Hope the rest of the lessons go well . . .

A whole lot goes into training a dog, I see...My parents have told me how difficult it was to train their Doberman. He certainly had a mind of his own.

Re: jpt
i didnt think of it as her turning on me, i thought of it as her going off to pout. i have never seen a dog as sensitive as she is, but fearless when need be. the dog in front of her was trying to invade her space, but because she growled she got squirted.

Re: cc
thank you so much for your comments, i didnt like her squirting my lucy either. when i read the next line, i got the best laugh i have had in a long time, yes, this owner should have been the one squirted. yes dogs are forgiving, and i should have wiped her nose with beef gravy, i think i will cook some chicken and take that with me tomorrow in case she needs a nose wiping or comfort. two minds are better than one.

Hmm. This reminds me of students who turn on teacher after a consequence. Patience is one answer. Hopefully the dog is trainable. I have a friend who returned a dog that could not be trained. I hope yours can.

Not very nice vinegar being used in that way JS. The trainer should really squirt the owner.
Dogs usually are really forgiving, perhaps she could still smell it, a little wipe might have helped with a beef gravy scent of course. Incedently you are hours in front of my time so your last blog but one, was scanned this morning.
