I find that kindness, empathy and concern go a long way as well. They make a huge difference.

thanks for the hug, helps in so many ways. something for nothing in my book is never free. when people go through life always trying to get it they end up paying in ways they could never imagine. i have always taught my children that something for nothing is never worth having.

Re: Some people sue, some mediate
yes, when i pick up the car i intend to point it out, maybe not necessary to repave, but they could appoint a better pick up area. and if i feel there is serious damage i certainly will have it looked at.

if more people were like you this would be a much better and easier World. i agree if there had been medical Bills one would need to have them paid and I also agree with you that the stupidity and rudeness of your fellow car hiring people was much more distressing than the physical hurt may have been. Sending you a get well hug.

Unfortunately, certain people will go ahead and get ahold of some gung-ho lawyer, and then all they'll see are dollar signs. Just paying for the medical bills and making sure the incident doesn't happen again should be enough . . .

if there is a reason to. I might ask the body shop to look into evening out that bit of pavement that tripped you up. And if they don't do anything about it, then consider what to do to encourage them.
And if you aren't all better in a few days, a doctor maybe should look at the damage?

We live in a litigious (lawsuit happy) society, and if more people
shared your reasonable attitude, there would be more unemployed lawyers. :)

Well it is a lovely attitude to take and I do hope that you do not suffer complications.
The present culture is so about getting something for nothing. it is refreshing to have the honour of meeting someone who has not fallen into this state. Keep an eye on your bruises though , martyrs don't seem to get many brownie points these days/.
