Thanks. You are so right. I love Blogit for the same reason.

sometimes it can be really helpful to know that someone identifies truly with one's painful past. What is terrible for me is when you hear someone say. Oh I understand when you know they can't possibly. They never experienced anything similiar to what a person is telling them. Blogit always seems to me to be such a special place where much love and patience is given and taken. I always enjoy your posts.

You are correct but they can't do it.

This is very true, there are people who can give it but can not receive it!  I aways tell them if you can't take the same as you dish out then don't dish it out!

The ones in my life never repent. When I talk about my part, they relive and I did not realize it affected them so much. Now, I must stick to neutral topics or not talk to these people. This is why I love BLOGIT, I can express myself without fear of offending anyone.

You are absolutely right.  I must have a constant mantra on hand: I KNOW NOTHING AND NOT TALK ABOUT MYSELF!

All my senses are hyper. I will force an I KNOW NOTHING ATTITUDE for me and others.

I understand what you are saying. I talk about myself but others are involved. I must talk about the weather, tv, books but nothing personal for it links some to pain or just listen and not talk.

Not just, egotism, correction, some could be false guilt if any possible restoration or repentance has been made.   Some things can't be changed, but could be corrected in the here and now by doing things differently.

Egotism seems hard to cure.

Sometimes it's best to let 'sleeping dogs lie', as the saying goes...

maybe its a good thing to have a bad memory

posted by Lanetay on July 9, 2013 at 8:31 AM | link to this | reply

I'm almost ashamed to admit this but, I am literally plagued by bad memories from my past that I seem destined to relive over and over. Knowing how hurtful and painful they are to me, I make sure never to bring up other people's negative past events so as to not force them to endure what I must endure! When I was young, I never fully understood Jacob Marley's "chains of despair" that he "girded on of his own freewill" that he must now endure for all eternity. Now I do . . .

Good memories are fine! It is the not so good memories that are not good to relieve like a cheating or lying spouse, betrayal of a loved one. I may need to stop watching the SOAPS for much I see there, I see and experience with no authority to take action and no enough to report to authorities.

Ah, but that's when we attempt to discuss GOOD memories! Which we also relive.
