I found this equal parts interesting and emotional. Interesting because the cultural expectations are so different from my own - I learned something new, which is always good!
Emotional because, well...it was full of honest emotion and reflection.

Pain and sadness and lack of money are rampant among most everyone I know. No one seems to have enough. I was raised to be thankful for what I have and trust God for what I need, but to work to provide it myself. Your writing was very interesting and apparently you have a strong work ethic.

I understand how you feel. My husband is Muslim and believes as your father about asking for money from his wife. I do hope you find work soon and no longer feel this burden...
