Sounds intriguing - I can't wait to read her story (after Kabu, of course, as she's already claimed "dibs" on the first copy...).
I'm very relieved to hear that she made the drive safely, and hope that your test results come back with glowing good news!

That sounds like a good idea. It may end on the screen. I used the name Sophie here for awhile when I had a blogger harassing me. It was short for sophisticated.
I look forward to the book and am glad things are working well for you.

I don't intend to miss it, Jimmy.
Just worried that I am unable to do it justice, but I have a community of writers on a site called Blogit that just may be solicited for help....

Oh my, Pat B - I certainly don't plan on doing it in 2 weeks!!
For now, she's going back as far as she can remember, I'm taking notes, and there will be research required on the war and how it affected her family and country etc.. Things she was unable to translate accurately, being so young. I told her we'd be lucky if we could get a first draft done within a year. But she may be coming to stay with me on a more permanent basis....

I think so too, FSI. Nothing to be lost, except time, by trying.

Hahaha, CCT. And she could cuff too - a formadible lady she is!
Actually, being born during the war to a very poor family, and a mom dying of stomach cancer when she was very young, then her dad sticking her in a convent when he brought his new woman home....there is lots of things to work with. I think the superior race will sit this one out.

That I don't doubt for a minute, TAPS!
It takes time just to blog, and then one has to find time to do it. It should be fun, and maybe frustrating, and I may be calling on some help from the Blogit community....

Well, if she doesn't care for Sophie, I'm sure you can come up with something else! And sometimes a long drive by oneself can really clear your head and help you think. Hopefully she took full advantage of that.
We had a neighbor who passed away a few years ago who served in WW II, and during his services, one of his daughters told a war tale of how he was aided by a French family after parachuting behind enemy lines during D-Day. I thought it would have made for an excellent book, but the family moved away shortly after, and I never got the chance to get any notes or information from the daughter. A missed opportunity indeed! Don't miss yours . . .

Sounds like a great way to gain perspective. But it will probably take
longer than a couple of weeks. Have fun. (hoping your scans were a-ok).

I think you should write her story, it would make her so happy and draw you two even closer...Just stopped to see you before I run out the door for our 800 and some mile drive to Denver...Thanks for the smiles.

Human interest stories of course you could do a build up of her Mother who had to work in the camps or could she have been a love child that was bred to form a superior race. I expect she would be cuffing me around the ear,
