My daughter and her husband moved in with us and believe me our house is upside down.

Just the thought of organizing such a yard sale is terrifying, Justi!!
Caught your smiles - thank you!! Yes he's better, and I wish those pests would move too!!!

LOL - nice to know, Kabu
And I don't think I have even one paper bag in the house - so I'm safe - unless they mentioned plastic too?

Yes, CCT, she'll be staying permanently...so far.
AT her age she doesn't want to move around so much, and there is more than ample space here, once all the leftovers are gone. I was thinking of renting that room out anyway, so good for both of us. I do have newspaper stacks in the garage, but to light my winter fires, so useful.

It's because there is also furniture involved, Naut.
And I already have enough of my own! Ah well - soon to be over! Helen is German; lokes things very uncluttered too. Nope - I won't comtemplate organizing my office either, unless forced....

I'm not a hoarder, FSI, but a procrastinator -
I put off telling people to come pick up their stuff or else!!

LOL - right you are, TAPS!
And we did a lot of that when the boys were living here.

I so agree with you, Ciel, and most of the stuff here is NOT mine!!!
But it will be going, going, gone by the weekend....I hope.

Love and laughter are welcome to take all the space needed, Pat_B!
Grump is doing ok - frustrated that he can't go and run outside. Use warm compresses 3 times a day, then wash with antiseptic, and has his pills morning and night, wrapped up in chicken. Still wearing a T-shirt so that Smooch doesn't try to help lick things away.

That sounds like big, big yard sale....
I saw you were running low on smiles last post and I sent you some. Here they are back so I know Mama's boy is much better. I wish that man would move away.

I learned when nursing that hoarding paper bags is a sign of Dementia starting...they didn't say anything about mattresses and office furniture so I guess you are OK !!

Well as long as you do not hoard newspapers. it would not concern me . I like things tidy but I can never seem to manage that little trick. Is Helen going to stay permanently? I just wondered.

Though far from being a 'neat freak', I can see how all that stuff could become a bit overpowering! I've had thought of selling my big old desk and getting my study reorganized, but then even the thought of it gives me the shivers...

It is good that you have developed a plan to make it easier for Helen to get around the house...I am a hoarder myself and have to work hard not to be so.

Your house sounds like a great place for your rugrats to play in-door hide and seek on a cold or rainy day.

There came a day...
when clear space became more valuable to me than cunning little knick-knacks, shelves and shelves of books I won't read again, and stuff, generally. Now, when tempted by one thing or another, I ask myself--Do I want to take care of this? Dust it regularly, give it space...? Usually, I decide I don't.

And yet there's plenty of room for love and laughter.
I hope your poor battlescarred doggie is doing well and doesn't get stressed by the coming confusion of cleanout day.

I could not deal with cluter cycling around inside my house like that. You are good and a model of giving up for others. I guess I am too territorial and like the inside and outside relatively clean and neat most of the time.
