CC, here's a PS. Bryan's also gotten us involved in that Nyack street-
corner reading each month. I wrote a poem about it this week. It all really makes you want to keep on writing!

Re: Re: Hi, CC. The frog poem was an exercise in giddiness. I have to say
(Oops!) Bryan Roessel - the young science-teacher and poet who runs it all - has really changed my way of life. He arranges for at least three "events" each month: a competitive "slam" night, an open-mike evening, and a kind of workshop in which everyone writes in relative silence for an hour and then sits around the second hour sharing what they wrote. It's a funny, young enthusiastic group that is very receptive
to old codgers like me. I also get out two other nights each month to read and listen - one's at the local library and the other's across the Hudson in the old Sleepy Hollow train station. Doing my stuff "live" is pretty exciting stuff. I'm really delighted with Bryan - he has a wonderful "ear" for words, and a pleasant and pretty girlfriend who dyes her hair pink and green and fixes snacks for everyone. He's encouraging me to organize some hikes back into the park to some of the places I mention in my poems, but I'm still rehabbing from the heart attack and am not quite ready yet. Most remarkable, he and his girl friend Kelly twice
came to visit me while I was in the cardiac care unit of the hospital, recuperating. Very thoughtful and funny people. I'm lucky. Enough (and much more than enough) about me. How are you doing?

Re: For the first time in a long time, I took a real close look at a frog
the other day. That girl must have been very lonely.
