Re:Yellowrose
I have to do a few things and then rest! It may sound like I do a lot, but there is a lot of "resting" in between! I wish I could do things like I used to! Oh well, time marches on.

We shuck our corn way up here in the bush too. We also shuck oysters. I enjoy canning, and making pickles. You've giving me the taste to start doing it again. I am SO happy about your daughter's progress. Fantastic news for you all, and especially for her. Make that 2 flowers, please.

you are a good girl putting all that food down for the winter. my Mother used to spend long hours doing the same. and i feel shocked that school is going back. Here it goes back after the first weekend in November. they have July and August off. i am grateful that daughter will have somewhere to go that gives her a chance to make it on the outside. praying for you all and thanks for popping in.

Over the years, I guess people have gotten spoiled with not having to shuck their own corn or process their own veggies! Nice to get back to basics! And I for one am looking forward to the Fall. Don't really like the heat at all . . .

Re: Summer winding down
Ciel, I will certainly give her a flower for you! I hope the program works out and the State is able to continue. She is one of 3 test cases.

That is early to begin the school year. I remember when everyone had a cow back in 1995 when the start of school was moved from the day after Labor Day to the Monday before.
I did not know that corn was shucked. All I knew about was oysters.

Summer winding down
right in the midst of summer busyness!
What great news for your daughter and the family! Support like that will encourage her, and help her solidify the new life path she's chosen. Give that gal a flower for me, when she moves into her new place!
