Re: Bob...
I gjuess the trick is to love it all, but not to cry that much about it

Re: Kabu, I'm glad for that!
The beach was another world - and probably still is - though I haven't been there in years.

Re: FormerSI
I haven't been in yearsbut would love to go again - I remember the sounds and smells so well! And sandcastles were a guilty pleasure!

Re: Fair enough, Jay.
This is a revision of a poem in which I tried to get deep but failed.

Re: GRITTY
CC, you are never stuck for words, are you! You remind me of coming back on the bus from the beach as a kid. We were hot and sweaty, but worst of all, we were sunburned and still had sand here and there that grated. Grit, indeed!

Re: time, not money
I often think of an indy film I saw years ago - at the end, a little boy watches the tide destroy a sandcastle he has built, but a voiceover says not to grieve because he can build better ones in his imagination. As I remember, a neat thing happens after that as he walks erect through a huge piece of concrete piping: the film had been in black and white, but when he comes out the other end of the pipe, the film is color! A simple thing, but it really rocked me at the time.

Bob...
Life can be just like that - castles in the sand - and when the storms of life come, all is washed away and lost.

I really enjoyed reading this one Bob, it is deeper than most will dare to go, and yet, not so deep that they dare not go.

they only take time and not money, what I should have done, but there was no beach nearby. You could always photograph them!
that is very symbolic of how life and even buildings are on a longer timetable.

Yes it is, and that's what makes us so mysterious and wonderful!

But that's the whole point of sandcastles, isn't it? To watch them fall, and build new ones?
