Great analogy. My middle son is like you and my brother was like that before he went to prison. Both can work with machinery.

My, my, my... They would talk or send messages to me. When I go after them they would back down or say wait until another time. I was ready to mix it up! They would not approach.

That is ideal. I was a dreamer who felt I could work in a system to help and help change things as needed. Was I wrong.

I like people who take care of business without asking a bunch of questions as a stalling tactic.

I did not have to contend with these types as a youth. It seems the more I climbed up the ladder of success, that is when these folks started popping up and out. A smack down is what they need.

I once saw a woman who seemed to try to humiliate her husband in the workplace. I actually heard her say to a man who I assumed knew her husband. 'You do not like me very much do you?' I thought at the time if there was an excuse for murder, this was a good example.

Great point that people in these situations should learn to stand up to these bullying types. This is a bad trend these days in my observation too in some situations. I would prefer being in the places that handle it like some of the other comments.

This reminds me somewhat of some of the "bullies" I had to contend with in my youth. Not all of the abuse was physical. When you're young, and see others being bullied, your first reaction is usually "Whew! At least they're not picking on me!" But as you get older, you begin to see things from the victim's point of view, and may be more likely to step in and say something. I know "office politics" is very common these days, especially in larger companies, but very, very few "middle management" people can get away with abusing their powers against those in higher positions! From what I've seen over the years, they usually don't last very long . . .
