My house is clean enough to be healthy and dirty enough to be happy. I do not keep pets in the house. It does not bother me that others do.

I guess I'll have to forgive myself for not knowing that yesterday was Dog Day! But I'll be sure to give my Bennie boy an extra treat today...

Good for you... I have a sign in my kitchen that reads..." Better a house unkempt than a life unlived" A friend gave it to me "once upon a time" ( sorry for borrowing that Justi loll) when I was like you preoccupied because there was never enough time to do all my chores. Cut yourself some slack' darling :-) xoxoxo

From one messy house to another
I'm like you - not the greatest when it comes to house work. I am capable of cleaning, but on the list of things I hate to do, it's #2 (#1 is brushing snow off my car). I force myself to clean one thing every day, and pick really small things when I'm just not in the mood. I wonder if purging your friends list on Facebook counts as "cleaning"...?

I also struggle with not getting enough or all of it done! We need to cut ourselves some slack--but that is easier said than done!

If I offered any criticism it would be the pot calling the kettle black. I have 2 dogs, sometimes 3, 2 cats and people coming in and out, and renovations. Oh - and I'm on first-name basis with my dust-bunnies.

You sound a lot like my wife . . . a million and a half things to do, and never enough time ( the money factor is another ball of wax entirely! ). Do what you can, and stay ahead of it. If you let certain things go for too long, you'll have an even bigger problem on your hands down the road! Happy Dog Day to you too! You're forgiven . . .
