I'm sure you know that in this matter Mme. Marois has my full support - not that it makes any difference, LOL...

Believe me, the United States is not much different when it comes to politicians! They'll say anything to get elected, and then it's "Screw you! You're on your own!" And age, gender, religion, sexual orientation, political affiliations, wealth, etc., don't make a bit of difference! A politician is a politician is a politician . . .

Still, it's nice to know that our public servants have completely
mended all the fences that needed fixing, solved all the problems of taxation and service, so that they have time to piddle with what people do or do not wear to work, whether there's a religious symbol worked into their jewelry. Sheesh!

i agree totally darling. One should have it spelled out that this country is...bi lingual and one is expected to speak both languages...(i fall down badly here) anf I have to say that there are plenty of language classes avaliable to new Canadians...
and that religion and State are separate and this is a Christian country. You will see Christian symbols everywhere and if you can't accept that .....you won't belong here.
We believe in equality of the sexes and will not tolerate anything that degrades the status of women...not muliple marriage, not hiding women away not beating or harming them. All children go to school, all women have equal rights to freedom of choice.
Lastly, this is a democratic society which means that some times the Government voted in by the majority of the people will not please us indivdually with the decisions they make but we do not cause riots if we don't always get what we feel is fair to me.
Sorry I did get carried away and wrote a post.

I am not sure I understand this. If you are saying this woman wants to take down the symbols of Christianity in order not to offend new comers I am saying that is not only offensive but deadly. I suggest people do not go into a country they plan to change into their own rather than change to the rules of that country. That is why I would never go to a non-Christian country and I am afraid that is what is happening to ours. May God bless your country totally.

Seems familiar if one wants to reside in a different country or whatever, one should not expect the rules to accommodate.; be thankful that one is not ostracized

I agree with you. It seems special interest groups or persons determine the majority and that is quite backward. It is allowed and cannot seem to get stopped.
