Thank you, Jay

I felt sorry for the poor baby Runt, but Nature knows best.

Most mother cats are, are they not, Justi?

Not that I know a lot about cats. Yes - had a wonderful huggy time with my babies.

Thank you, CCT

Yes - and I'll be making sure to remind my grandson of his promise to have her neutered!! She's just a tiny cat herself.

It sure is nice, FSI. I could hang out with constantly!

LOL - Nautikos, I would say they have deteriorated more than a bit...

a fact noted and commented on by my 3 year old grandson who asked "Did you really used to be good at this, Mémère?"

Tee-hee - I'm sure that strong wind carried my smile right

to your door, Kabu!! It was a special 'Warm & Loving' SMILE!

I understand perfectly, Jimmy

It upsets me too when I read about animals in pain - although little Runt was warm and comfortable - but I guess Nature had to take its course.

Thank you, Pat-B

I enjoyed the trampoline, but not as much as I did a few years ago, LOL! DO some dancing here - the HABS WIN butt-jiggle!!

There is nothing more meaningfull, or fun than grandchildren and the time we get to spend with them. How sweet of you to take care of that little kitten...Well done and thanks for the smiles.

Sorry about Runt but his Mom was a smart Mom. I love all your post. This one was especially nice thinking of you and your babies.

Well if the little Runt was deformed it was a happy release.

A good idea to have the mother cat neutered,

it is weakening and upsetting if one has to put kittens down.

I suppose the kiddies are becoming more of a handful,

but nice to let your hair down

occasionally.

Here's a  from me for looking so well after little Runt and making his short life comfortable! And it's great that you could spend time with your rug rats, even if your trampoline skills have deteriorated a bit...

Poor little kitten but it crossed the bridge all warm and cuddled up and feeling loved. His poor little Mama had already done her grieving. Amazing what they know but you way was the perfect way. I am glad there won't be more babies. It just gets to be too much.

And of course being with those Rug rats is going to have you happy and smiling...Oh and I coaught one that you sent out. Feeling warm and loved from it so I am.

What a terrible shame about that kitten. But like you wrote, at least you did your absolute best to make sure his final days were as comfortable a possible. Now I definitely can't pass this blog along to my wife! Believe it or not, she would be quite upset, whether she had seen or known that kitten or not. That's just the way she is . . .

I think the universe will find a special blessing to repay your kindness

to little Runt - and others, come to think of it. As for the trampoline, I've never tried one. They became popular after I was all grown up and aware that my bones are fragile, and I can have all the fun I want dancing to some good music in the kitchen... Loved this post, the contrasts..

Nature took its course with Little Runt,

and it sounds like it was for the best, saving him from a painful life.  I think sometimes that what matters most is not that you could not keep him alive, but that you had to try.  It's more important that he had some comfort at the end, than that it was the end.
