i love the Lord's prayer. we always close AA meetings with it.

For some reason, I remember many, many years ago, the Catholic church I attended dropped the last two lines, and simply ended the prayer at "and deliver us from evil." I was very young and naive, so years later, when I heard the 'complete' prayer, I became confused, thinking someone had altered or 'modernized' it. Why do you suppose they originally did that . . . ?
