Without giving away where my blog, "My Long Road Back" heads just yet, I fully understand emotional and physical abuse. Watch how this most painful part of my life is posted over the next week. Twenty full years later, I am having trouble writing and editing this work.
This piece of work is true and after posting just the first couple of installments I began to have trouble sleeping again and then had my first nigtmare about it last night in over 18 years.

Emotional Abuse
I have been working on a short story concerning the devestating power of emotional abuse. The "I can't do anything right" syndrome is only one residual symptom of emotional abuse. Verbal abuse is merely the begining of what an Emotionally abusive individual is capable of. The blaming abuser, I'm told, generally isn't aware of what he is doing and actually believes that the victim is to blame. This is a progressive, dibilitating form of abuse in which the victim eventually comes to be hated and discarded like garbage if she does not seek help or make provisions for an escape. The emotional scars are horrendous.
