I totally agree that there is very little difference between the Progressives in both parties, but as far a becoming self sufficient in oil and natural gas it is the Democratic parties cow-towing to the environmentalists that have put a tap on drilling. Back east that may not hold much meaning, but out here in Utah, Wyoming and Colorado, where we have proven oil reserves far exceeding that of all the middle east combined it is a big deal. In Utah over 70% of our land is owned by the federal government. Our public schools are among the lowest funded schools in the nation, relaying wholly on property taxes for that funding. If were allowed to use our land the way the people in Utah see fit they would be among the highest funded and not one red cent would need to come from property taxes. My property taxes have raised from 800 dollars a year to over 2500 dollars with another 300 hike on the way.

I fully agree. It is mainly Obama and the left wing of the Dems who are blocking the path to North America's self-sufficiency in oil...

Since I belong to my own political party ( the Free-Thinking Non-Conformists ), I would say that both parties are equally to blame for everything that is wrong with this country right now, the specifics be damned . . .
