I surely know what you are feeing, and send you a big hug too, jeansaw. I have my own Pet cemetery here at home, where my loved doggies and cats are resting among the trees where they loved to play . I can remember saying I never wanted another after losing my first one, but there are so many out there needing a good, warm, loving home...and I think your Ace would be happy knowing another of his kind would get a chance to make you happy....

Re: jimmy

yes, first time i had to decide to have a pet put to sleep, but i could not have him wake up just to suffer.

holding you in a big hug. I cannot stand it when animal family members have to leave us. This must have been a horrible shock for you. I am so sorry and just when you are wanting to enjoy being retired.

Oh, sweetie...I am so, so sorry for your loss.  I hope it comforts you to know that Ace has a place in our Heaven and that he's watching over you.

So tough it is when we lose our pets. My heart goes out to you.

My heart is with you, and a few tears.

I have had to make that decision, though our dog was not in surgery. We just knew when the day had come, and I knew I had to be there with him. Painful as it is, as you say, it is the right thing.

Gosh, that's so terrible! I know we don't want our pets to suffer, but at the same time, we also know how much we'll miss them when they're gone. It's a difficult balance. At least you were with him at the end. Hang in there. Time will heal such wounds . . .
