- Go to CGI Has Come A Long Way, But Not Far Enough To Be Realistic
I remember taking a film course in high school. She showed us a very early movie made where the gun was shot and seconds later the sound effect happened. Movies and all the encompassing fields will continue to grow...some good changes some not...we live and we learn from all of them

You sound like a good friend of mine, who also hates the CGI images! I do understand that many of the characters that are created by CGI, especially in those comic book-related films, simply could not be done by 'conventional means.' There aren't a lot of seven-foot tall, three-hundred pound actors who could don a villains costume and bound from building top to building top! But that's not what gets me. What gets me is that many of these movies spend too much time on the CGI special effects and not enough time on the script or plot line! I have no qualms about popping these movies out half-way through if the story is just not grabbing me, regardless of the special effects . . .

I am not too keen on how CGI looks either. I also feel that movies are using those effects as a crutch.
