Properly trained intake workers will thoroughly go through purses, have them empty pockets, take away shoelaces, mouthwash (contains alcohol), take away belt and anything else that can inflict pain, cause death, enable that person or somebody else to continue their addiction(s)....it's not easy but I have seen it done

Wiley, my read was here, so professional. And my therapist was a retired NYC fireman. He made my rehab work!

Keep an eye on the Prompts--not exactly contests, so much as challenges and opportunities. I've always found it easier to write to a challenge then just off the top of my head.

In all my AA years sober I have never felt positive about rehabs. They don't seem to get the message out that if an alcoholic goes back to the first drink or an addict to another first hit, the ballgame is over pretty much. But good luck in your endeavours my friend.

Ciel, thanks. I'll review. Also, think you have a poetry contest in you? I'm a different guy than I was a decade ago. I might be able to write a poem in under 200 words.

My whole Universe blog is about... among a few other things... clearing out the obstructions to intuition. I'll see if I can't come up with a summary over the next couple of days.

Ciel, agreed. Say, any recommendations on that improving intuition? Gladwel's "Blink"?

An intake interview with a barely there interviewer
is just filling in the blanks. A real interviewer knows the cues that someone has more to say, or is lying, or hiding, though this level of competence is acquired through both study and experience. Intuition helps, too. And there are ways to improve one's intuition, too.

Since 1970's. Suc h a good sample 9 excellent writing and keeping the main point (anti war) alive by understatement or ... I forget what that is called...making it stand out by putting it only on two of the chap ters. I know there's a name for it. Like synechdoche.
