Ah geez....
I'm always sorry to hear dining stories that end with a server not being tipped.

Actually Beachbelle...

we did complain in a way. The bill was 17.83 and we left 18.00 for a 17 cent tip. That's less than 1%. I think they got the message. lol

Ah, the comedy dining experience

There's only one way to deal with situations like that - laugh.  And it seems that's the way you dealt with it!  I'd probably have done the same.

Isn't it amusing how waiters just don't understand the request for water.  And when it actually gets through to them they ask if you want still or sparkling... "no, I just want tap water, for Chris'sakes!"  Tap water?  You bloody commoner!

A girlfriend of mine always insists on tap water and she is made to feel like complete crap for doing so, because that way they can't charge her an extortionate amount of money for bottled water... that ultimately came from a tap somewhere anyway.

I guess by not complaining
it means others will be able to "enjoy" the same experience.
