It's great to spend time with the kids, and at some point in their lives they will probably realize Grandma was wise in prohibiting cell phones at family gatherings...

I am glad you managed to cope with the new ideas Justi. I was trying to think what I felt when I visited my older relations. Probably wished they had a wireless I expect or a gramophone. Although the musical box was enchanting. Anyway you had a happy time and that's what counts.

I'm glad you had a nice visit with everyone, and even though I don't have any children, I do understand what you mean. My mother was here recently visiting from Texas, and I wanted to spend as much time with her as I could because I so rarely get to see her. Twelve of her fifteen grandchildren and all six of her great-grandchildren are here in Jersey, so the gatherings were both plentiful and wonderful. By the way, excellent rule on those cell phones . . .
