Re: Re: Ciel

The best endearment I hear often would be "Mom." There are waitresses who call everyone "Dear" or "Sweetheart" or "Honey" mainly because they want to be friendly.

Then there are those who pull out "Dear" and some other terms when they are arguing and mean, consciously or not, to demean the person they are confronting. It's amazing how many people use endearments that way.

Re: Ciel

You are right. (My Duck,) is what we address people as around here. Or (My Dear) if they are very young or very old. (Love) if it feels O.K. (Misses) if we want too rebuke someone. (Madam) if we feel overawed in their presence. (Chick) a form of endearment. I like ducks but they are a bit messy and their eggs were suspect once, we used to keep them shut in until late so that they laid their eggs in the coop and not in the pond. Are you ever addressed as one of the a/b?

Ducks, too, were once dinosaurs.

Not, maybe, the brightest ones.

Swans-- lovely, graceful, elegant and mean as sin... Reminds me of some people!

I suppose you took this while sitting in the bath. Your Mum was right too much thrown away these days I nibble around a maggoty apple.
