I know there are many things that seem to fall into that category of the 'generation gap,' but the kids today really do have no clue about these things! And it's their parent's fault! I hate to say it but, I think the next generation will be even worse . . . !

I am not manic about it at all. I compost and have for years for my garden, I recycle and am simply not wasteful. However, I am not trying to save or give life to the planet. God created it and he will do as he chooses with it. I try not to damage it but green in the sense it is used liberally, no I do not.

When I was a kid, we had a couple of green canvass bags with handles and we walked a long way to the store. The things on Mom's grocery list were put in the canvass bags and we walked back home, setting the heavy things down now and then to rest our arms.

I like the reusable bags because they are easier to carry and can be used for lots of things. I am just a hair above 30, so I have grown up with the "green thing," but the household of my youth did not have a lot of money so we were taught to be resourceful when it came to repurposing old or broken things. I see both sides on this one and feel there is no need for bitterness.

i try to go green but not to a major extent. they no longer offer a choice of paper or plastic at my supermarket. i think people like the plastic sacks. probably use them for trash liners. i do. hugs and prayers to you dear justi. and george. happy sunday a much needed day of rest for some of us like wiley and kabu.

excellent..and we have gone from plastic bags to taking our own in each week. we bought really good ones that are lined with insulation so that the ice cream doesn't melt on the way home...and they don't have the bottom fall out of them...but we aren't green either.
