I think it's good, be they 1/2, 1/3, 1/4, 1/5, 1/6, 1/7, 1/8, 1/9, 1/10 and all the way to 3.7 × 1026...

When you say 'half' sibling, do you mean like a step-brother or sister? If that's the case, then yes, they probably should help each other. Families with step-children always seem to find great difficulty 'jelling.' Any help would surely be appreciated by the parents . . .

I feel that it is good for older half siblings to help in the caring. It helps teach responsibility. Of course, though, there are situations where an older half sibling should not.
