- Go to HOW much????
Well folks, I did follow it up with the airport authority, who put me on to London Transport, who said that they couldn't answer for prices charged outside Greater London ... so in short, I've got Buckleys's (ask Kabu about that one!) of getting anything back. But, as I wrote, for each negaative there's usually a positive. And I'm positive I won't be taking another taxi from Heathrow unless I've pre-booked and agreed a price.. smile.

80£ for a taxi ride? A couple of hundred years ago that was many people's annual income...

ouch, I agree with that second taxi driver...check with the airport. Can you contact the taxi service??
I wondeeer what part of Australia daughter is going to. If she has a stinking hot Summer she may rush back to London by next year. I am glad that you were there for each other for the good bye.

That's really bad. Nine years ago when I still had some money, and it drained. A taxi driver not familiar with the area charged me $50.00 to drive me to the next toiwn love.

Crikey I think probably the last time I took a taxi 12miles it was twenty-five pounds.
It was a bit mean I think to charge you that much, perhaps he thought he would not get a fare back . A pity you had not asked a different cabbie, never mind though it was nice that your daughter was back to her old self. Sometimes those we love are sensitive.
