If you feel you want to, do it Justi. Soon it will all be forgotten, I expect there is a liking for nostalgia, I don't know if there is any profit in it, but it would be nice for your family.

For sure - personally I buy books with stories set in those days, I really enjoy them! Have you many of the chapters written already, or you are planning of doing that now?
