It depends on the job. For example, my father would not hire a fourteen year old who was of no relation to him, and even then, that person would work under supervision...Of course, though, there are fast food joints that hire part-timers that young.

For certain vocations, probably. But to get them started doing almost anything, 14 may be just about right . . .

Well I left school at 14 Bill my Dad did at 12 and my Grampy at 11. I couldn't do exams so I got relegated. Dyslexia probably and other torments.
