yes i have had panic/anxiety attacks...terrible so they are and paralyzing...and yes take medication with water.

The Heimlich Maneuver comes to mind, although I do not know how to use it...I remember some phobias being a sort of natural instinct to protect us. Think snakes for instance.
As for what caues others, Little Albert helped explain that humans can be conditioned to be afraid of things.

Choking can cause a nasty reaction Bill a bang in the tummy sometimes shifts it so I have been told.

I think a glass of water may have helped! It's been a while, but yes, I have had panic attacks, the last one had me almost passing out! Not pleasant . . .
