Re:
Nobody would, TAPS, regardless of what the surgery actually was. I guess that girl is lucky her waking up didn't lead to any complications! Who knows what might had happened! Weird . . .

I understand, Annicita. Why take chances? They're both a little odd . . .

I think I wouldn't want to wake up in the middle of any surgery.

I'm not sure and don't intend to tempt fate by choosing one!

Re:
That's true, Bill. Even though it was 50 years ago, someone should have seen that car part in that guy's arm! The fact that a protective pocket grew around it and he felt no discomfort shouldn't have mattered! Someone dropped the ball once again . . .

Re:
I hear ya, FSI! Going over 50 years with a piece of a car in your arm is strange enough! Waking up during surgery? I think that's somewhat of a nightmare no one would want to have to deal with . . .

Re: JimmyA
I understand, Sir Wiley. No one is infallible, but we would expect our doctors and surgeons to be as close as possible! I'm sorry about what happened to your wife. That had to be very difficult. It's always somewhat scary when anyone goes 'under the knife' for any reason . . .

Re:
That's true, Kabu. No matter what type of surgery you're having, or what area of your body they're working on, I think people would want to stay unconscious the entire time! I know I would . . .

Re:
No pain in the brain, C C T? How is that possible? Isn't that what the aspirin companies thrive on? And you may be right. Who knows how many 'foreign objects' may be floating around in our bodies right now? Perhaps we shouldn't want to know . . .

Re:
It might have been, chuck, especially for the anesthesiologist! I guess the only thing creepier would be a corpse waking up on an undertaker! Now that would definitely be creepy . . .

They don't indeed, Pat! That was one of the first things I was thinking too! Not particularly creepy? Perhaps! Extremely odd? Definitely . . .

I guess I would rather have been the person with the car part in one's arm. That person seemed to have lived a normal life for a good while...I cannot imagine waking up during any surgery I am supposed to be out.

No guilt trip but my previous wife died with a glio blastoma brain tumour in 2000, 4 months I nursed her so that didn't hurt me making a choice, give me the operation for the lever.LOL

Well it proves one thing Jimmy foreign parts could be part of anyone's anatomy we all ought to get a free scan. .
Also that it is true the brain does not feel pain.

Neither story seems particularly creepy to me, but
I think waking up while any surgery was in progress would be horrific. Both of your tales inspire no confidence in surgeons.
