Without making it look like I'm pushing my new book, I have an entire chapter devoted to just the avoidance by my friends and family entitled, "A Simple Act of Recognition." Everybody.... and I mean EVERYBODY... stopped talking to me. I went from having 25 to 30 calls a day to three a week and not one of those from my 'friends.' Talk about feeling isolated just when you needed the emotional support!

Yes that's rough, I hope you can endure your poor wife's condition. We do get a carers allowance here if looking after an ill person, but it needs more help as even friends tend to avoid anyone with this condition.

Geez, that all sounds so terrible. I've had ups and downs in my own life, but nothing of that extreme. And even though my wife and I have only been married for 12 years, I feel as you do . . . I would never abandon her either, no matter what. I can only hope that things might improve for you from this point on . . .
