Geez, I'll bet many of us could do our own posts about 'the good ol' days,' such as they were! I believe there's an underlining sense of fear and mistrust flowing through our society today, the causes of which are probably as varied as the people themselves. No, it never hurts to be as friendly and amicable as possible to others, regardless of the reaction you may get in return. You just keep smilin' and saying Hello. You've got nothing to lose . . .

Yes it is a sad fact of life that folk have withdrawn into shells. The only time I have seen people re-act differently is when I am in my garden near the pathway. It could be the
surroundings that trigger different responses. The Super market is the jungle, one does not look at a lion smiling.
