I believe they are probably testing it out in the minors first to see if it will be viable in the majors. Personally I have no problem with it. It should speed the game up a bit. However, given the time placed on it, I wonder what the "penalty" would be if a pitcher exceeds the allotted time?

I like the idea of the pitch clock. The rulebook states allows a pitcher twelve seconds when no one is on base. They are giving them twenty,.
Anyway, what I like about it is that it will help quicken the pace of place. Pace of play is a major issue facing baseball. Just three years ago, 29 teams averaged games under three hours. Now only one does.
It would be one thing if there was a ton of offense prolonging games, but it is not. Pitchers and batters both dilly-dally. And, I feel that things are getting to a point where it is going to start costing baseball fans.
Hopefully, the pitch clock makes its way to the majors soon.
