Re: ipp
Thank you for your input. This is one of the reasons for moving such a distance from what I have known for 30 years. When I divorced in 1990, it seemed like everything was starting to go fine. I was out of the shelter and on my own, but my x knew alot about our going and comings as he and I had 3 small children. I was afraid to ask for alimony, although I could have gotten it. Child support was going to enrage him enough. He acted like he had settled into the situation. He signed the divorce agreement and it was only a week before everything was final. He knew I was driving to downtown ATL to see buyers as riches. They were buying hair accessories from me. I had my little bow closet ready and was going there. He worked downtown near GA Tech. Just as I was getting off that ramp, a bullet came through the window. Missed me by 2 inches and hit my bow closet behind me. Windows shattered, and I ducked into the floor and kept my foot on the gas. Somehow I ended up at the top of the exit stopped about 1/4 mile from the Varsity. The police came, someone else called them. No cells back then. The pulled up my tag and license and told me that I was told to leave town the last time there was violence at my home. They told me that he was going to kill me. I did not believe it as we were going through a new cycle of him being nice. I DID NOT BELIEVE THEM. He helped me get my window fixed with insurance company. I sold a lot of bows that day. But it took me 20 more years to believe it was him. The mind is a strange thing. A bullet comes from the direction of where he worked. It did come from the dorms, but it could have been anybody. Now I know that it was probably someone he put up to it. He had no Idea how to use a gun. He was an Audio Guy for Ted Turner and One of the largest churches in town. I just couldn't believe he would do that. But he was the only one who knew where I was going that day. One week later he called and ask for the family tent, as he was going to go into the woods and kill himself. Although I cried, I gave him the tent and called his sister about his strange behavior. She told me he was just feeling guilty about all he had put me through. I rarely heard from her until recently. We don't talk about that. In fact we have only talked twice lately and it was about her drama.

Listen to Jeansaw; she knows your laws down South and has just gone through divorce. Let the police know let your lawyer know let your friends and children know. and get that insurance policy cancelled. I am feeling worried for you.

just be careful, lock doors and always be aware of things. i told my attorney everything, what my husband said to me and how he was acting and low and behold it took 27 days to get a final divorce because my attorney told me he talked to the judge and they thought it best to do it quickly.....the divorce was final even before he was moved out. once he was moved out my son told him to not come here unless he called my son and my son could meet him here. please be careful.

No, I am not exaggerating, in fact may be minimizing. Thus this blog to leave a record.

Well I would just keep a low profile, maybe you just imagine these things. You are both bound to feel uneasy. I don't think insurance companies pay out so easily.I would just try and be as nice as you can.

That sounds like a dangerous situation, and I hope you're exaggerating a bit! My younger sister recently got out of a loveless marriage ( after almost 30 years ) and is already engaged to a terrific guy! Ya never know! And I have one suggestion for your home's name, if it's not too obvious . . . Purple Paradise!
