Sounds like hot nights in my childhood. We always had the doors and windows open for any air moving a bit and only little hooks on the screen doors. A person surely couldn't do that now.

Such a frightening story that the little child remembers it all her life. Now that is real terror and I wonder if the law inforcement may have had a quiet word with Junior at some time telling him to keep away..

That's a potent story!
Childhood memories can be very precise about something so specific and upsetting. I have one of two of those, too.
