My Great-Grandfather was born in El Paso, Krisles. This is interesting! Hope you're able to enjoy those CABBAGE PATCH KIDS somewhat?

To this Canadian, and I'm sure to others as well, Texas has a special mystique and is probably seen as the most 'American' of all American States...

Yes, my former lady friend was born and raised in Texas but her father was from N.Y.
state and her mother from Mass. IBM brought her parents down there and also brought
them back up north. She had a thick southern draw though, that was quite appealing
at the time.

I suppose we are born into our surroundings or introduced at an early age to a certain
environment. Some do not like leaving it for long, absence makes etc. The smaller the area the greater chance of it being absorbed by different views or cultures. The loss is then felt by the original residents, but can only be expressed in that small circle. In a way there is an advantage in belonging to a large committed community. Good article.

A cousin of my father moved to Texas when he was fifty years old. He ended up becoming one of them.

I remember one Internet friend that I had for some time stating that I am not American I am Texan. I guess you would understand that more than me.
but living over here in the northern Hemisphere has broadened my knowledge of this part of the New World. Every day on blogit, I get new views new thoughts to chew over. nicec Post.
