For some reason your haiku has sparked a memory of a long-ago holiday in France... the lake was muddy, the air hot and stifling. I couldn't wait to get back in the car and head home, lol.

You are quite clever Kris, it is not a restful poem, but it stresses naturally into the condition of your awareness.

I played around with several forms a few years ago, and still do, and I rarely do the "strictly traditional" nature-themed haiku...that would probably truly appeal to you. Â As with most things, I tend to be a rebel and just call it haiku when I use the 5-7-5 syllable format, even stringing together multiple verses. Â I like the simplistic challenge that keeps me more contained....as I tend to go all over the place - as in this comment! Try it and make it your own way, just enjoy.
