Re:

I write everything in Word but i seem to be in a minority here. I prefer to have large chunks so as to help me pick up the rhythm of the story and the author. However, since I've begun to post here, I am posting in smaller chunks of 500 to 700 words. Another way of saying it, just as people on NetFlix and Amazon Prime 'binge watch' a series, I prefer to 'binge read' a story.

In the end, it matters not to me. I usually like to write until the story hits a cresendo and then leave it there, creating a reason for them to come back. A good 'cliffhanger' works on TV and in reading. With "The Darkness,' I'm about 1500 words ahead right now but I', also nuturing another new story to life, something that takes me a few days to do. The first 1000 words determine if people will like the story so I work hard to make sure it hooks them.

I write mine in Word and then copy and paste small chunks so that my followers don't become overwhelmed...it seems to work for me...

Really looking forward to more and yes, the smaller chunks work for me as a reader and you cankeep ahead that way.

bv

looking forward to reading dave and the darkness.  if the story is good i dont care if it is only one page long.  and the older i get the more i appreciate less wordy stories and my guess would be that older people read more, that is if they can still see to read.
