I wonder K. Have you been reasonably happy, you do seem to bounce back from misfortune. I suppose things could always be worse, I don't think you will regret caring for Mum . As one becomes older I find that at times I wish I had shown more compassion or had behaved more conventionally. I am just thankful that I did some things right.

Hubby reminds me of my first husband. He's bi polar and truly cannot think beyond himself.
Mama sadly cannot come back to her home and it sounds perfect to turn the house into your home your space.

I can see you have been on the go a lot over the years. I know of some people who move a lot. Others I have seen stay at a place for decades on end. Most of neighborhood finds the latter. In my my mother's neighborhood, it is the former.
