Talking mouths are certainly yammering back and forth continuously. I get so tired of it that some days I don't turn on the TV at all, preferring pretty music or silence. I have Son at hand to give me heads up on news he thinks I might have missed that is important.

Krisles
I haven't given much thought to gun issues - in this country there's no real debate. We don't have 'gun issues' - we have 'crime issues' - only criminals 'carry' and they can always get guns.
A Liberal (aka Socialist) government once introduced a Gun Registry, where people had to register their hunting rifles and shotguns. It was a total idiocy - it cost billions of dollars and most people just refused, as did I. Our current Conservatives did the right thing and got rid of it...
Before buying a handgun you go through a very rigorous vetting process that seems to be working well. We don't have crazies knocking off people - it's just criminals who get their guns in the street...
And Israel is a special case - you won't see as many guns in the streets anywhere else! Their problems have little to do with what we call 'gun crimes' - they have to do with Muslim crimes...

Your entry is rich with a lot of great points. I am not too trusting of online and print news either. Television at least allows for people of different views to react a certain way.
I feel that you have hit the nail on the proverbial head when it comes to gun control. And I do feel the time has come for guards to be at schools.
