Mum's last illness is chronic and progressive. It can have periods of stability, even days of regeneration but the march is relentlessly onward. What cruel things to write in a comment to a friend.
But I say it because my own Mother went this way and I am a gerentology educated nurse...Mother just may not be able to care for her bird but there must be someone who can. I would advise putting it somewhere safe. She may grab it, squeeze hard...
On a happy note, I like our Annies idea of a Mural.

I say paint a mural or buy one and have someone put it up for you....a nice seascape or under the ocean with a mermaid or two

If you still have Susie I suggest brown. Perhaps a couple of goldfish would have been easier for Mum.
