I agree that it's different between boys and girls. Remember that book, "Men are from Mars; Women are from Venus?"

Re: Krisles
This scenario is a doozie on many levels. I do remember being 23. I had two small children, but still, I was a a basket case too. Truth is, I am worried about both parties. Maybe I'm making this more about me than I should. Hmmm....Still, I appreciate your words and your ability to relate. Thank you, Krisles.

Well lets talk of young men. I have known several they have a first love and it is so painful when it falls through, that they never repeat the process. A woman once told me that her son about 40 still carried his first girl freind's photo in his wallet. I honestly think it is different for women as they get it out of their system due to the natural desire to have children. Of course I am talking of a percentages.

Having read your posts for a little while now, I am very confident you're quite capable of helping your son in this situation! I, however, must recite my mantra for these occasions - I never give advice in matters of the heart...

Well, you've done a great job of describing the situation from your perspective.... because, of course, that's what it is - and you only got there through experience. I mean, when you were 23, were you this smart and insightful? I understand your concerns....I'm going through the same thing for two generations of younun's right now! And, OMG, do they need us! I'm just giving my initial reaction...I'll keep thinking on this, but I do know they have to go through these things to get to be as smart as we are! It's just the really bad errors we want them to avoid, like maybe putting off the exam - if the consequences are too dire.
