I do have a vague idea of the people when I start, but as the story goes I keep a loose rein on them, allow them to develope as the plot developes. Actually, making the protagonist female this time was a last second decision made just before I started writing. So far I like how she's turning out. :)

I can't help wondering EJ. I know a woman is um, um, no I had to cross that out.
No what I really would like to know is if you do create these characters and then remake them as you continue, hoping the momentum of the idea will give a natural credence to each personality. Or are they stacked ready for action in a unique filing system.
