Well Kat as far as I know we have not got any poision Ivy around here anywhere. Also I always wear gloves when dealing with anything that might be a bit nasty. Sometimes I pull up small stinging nettles with my bare hands. They are not too bad as actually there is a stinging nettle eating contest.
