Re: Nautikos
Yep, it is a big LOL! Kalman's Gypsy Princess has some great lines and a good ending. It's sounds are much like I heard nightly as a child, if I was at that end of the house! The counterpoint, Tina Turner's Rolling on the River... LOL! To sing as either Miss Sylva's character or Miss Tina, or both, would have been great, and wild!

Nice, wild abandonment, LOL! I'm thinking of Kalman's Gypsy Princess for this one, though it may not be wild enough, LOL...

Thank you so very much. I was so debating whether or not the fickle thing was worth keeping around, or even if she was around, and I still wonder, would she stay? She does as she wishes, LOL!

You make me want to reach into the closet for my broom and go for a moonlight ride.

Hi PResta a good poem you have here. A poem that in my view increases in stature as you proceed and give yourself up to your muse.

Re: TAPS
Sinilar to my mother's story. Her father was born to a Polish father from the Austro-Hungarian Empire. Borders had changed. Mother had supposedly died in childbirth, and the baby (my grandfather) was kidnapped by Gypsies. (Why?) My g-grandfather then re-kidnapped his child back from the Gypsies and sent him to U. S. The family story is that he was half Gypsy. And he very well may have been. They also had stories. Interesting. This is the short version. LOL.

My mother used to write poetry about the gypsies. My grandmother grew up in a part of Bohemia where gypsies traveled and existed and she had many tales to tell. My mom used to like to pretend that she came from the gypsies and loved gypsy music and dancing.
