I used to do remembering therapy with a group. I had a big book with lots of pictures...Australia the 20th Century. A picture or a newspaper article in the book would bring all sorts of memories. They refused to remember about the great depression or the war years which I found interesting.
Sometimes I wrote a story and would read it, they loved that.

Very interesting all of the different therapies. Hopefully, we find some that work out very well.

My husband and I had a ministry in a nursing home and one of the divisions was Alzheimer's and you are right. My husband sang with them playing guitar and they would sing and some would ask for favorites after a few months of that.

Fascinating, Justi! I really enjoyed learning about these therapies and reading your post. Also, I have read of a type of Music Therapy, where music from a favorite time in a patient's life is played, perferably with lyrics. The person will sometimes "waken" and begin to sing along...
