Poor George, but I know you have made it up to him ever since. You were not yourself probably still under the influence of drugs. The worst thing is forgiving oneself.

Yes - Kabu has it right. What an experience! Terrible at the time, but I'm sure it also contributed to you being the sweet, generous person you have become.

I think sometimes all that hurting and pain does get to one and its often that it is taken out on the people closest to you. Really hard to be in pain and have a cheery attitude I know.

Totally agree with TAPS and Kabu. You had been through so much, and the strain on family and friends had just been a bit much. Great post. So sorry you were so very ill.

two over wrought and exhausted people who lost their way for a bit. What a shock. We are humans, forgiven before it happens. it is only later one realizes that the behaviour was selfishly childish but it passes. Real love forgives and forgets. My but you had been through a terrible time and all you needed was to be hugged and reassured. besides one has to leave the hospital so quickly I am not sure that our loved ones are sure how to cope with us nor the one who has had surgery is ready to be home even though it is where they are sure they want to be.
