Re: GoldenMean
I don't remember saying anything about a religion allowing it or condoning it. No religion can control the heart of any man, neither can any man save anyone else, not even you. A witness can lead someone to Christ if that person is willing, but that is the best he can do. You cannot make him drink of the Water of Life.

What????? You really think this can happen in any religion? I don't think so. I must respectfully ask for your reasons to think that. I have read scriptures of all the major religions, including lots of the Bible, some of Buddhist, Hindu, Muslim, Ba'hai, Jewish, Zoroastrian, Sikh, Sufi, Jain religions, not to mention many different sects of Christianity, not to mention Satanism (I once had a girlfriend who was a Satanist, and I could not save her), not to mention all the various New Age or Spiritualist beliefs. Have you ever heard of the so-called "The Law Of One"? I have, it is an important current issue, and I will write a post about it very soon.
But in all my readings and studies, I have never found a religion that would allow a believer to go from devout to bad, and back again to devout, as easily as Islam allows it. All religions push us toward love and tolerance, EXCEPT ISLAM. It is the single exception to all the world religions, in this regard. The teachings of love and tolerance in the Koran are meant to be only AMONG MUSLIMS, and not extended to infidels such as you and I. We are not to be tolerated, we are to be converted, killed, or enslaved. That is why Islam is different than all other religions. This is crucial, and it must be understood. Cheers

Very interesting. One can go from devout to bad, and back again to devout in any religion, and without anyone even realizing it.

It is amazing just how quickly some of them have changed from seemingly being Western to acting more in line with Islam. Not only at times do we not know the enemy, we do not know who the enemy will be...

I think all these excuses for making up for their "sins" and to jihad is nothing but a front for believing in extremist views and executing their violent ideologies. It is such a dangerous violation of human rights and such a waste of innocent human lives.

I think the "Sudden Jihad" turnings that Nautikos is reporting are unique to Islam. It does not occur in other religions. This is because of the violent and predatory nature of the teachings in the Koran and Hadiths, which we have been discussing here and in my blog for a long time. You could point to violence in the Old Testament, but that is balanced and countered with the teachings of Jesus in the New Testament. I myself know of a crucial verse about the shedding of blood, Genesis 9:6, which I think is valid and vital. But I temper it with the teachings of Jesus. Islam has no reforming prophet or vision, just the predatory violence of Murdering Mohammed. That is my name for him, inspired by Trump's nicknames for people, such as Crooked Hillary.

Are Hindus, Christians, Buddhists, etc also able to shock us w/ violence
I think of Cambodia, Thailand, Vietnam, N & S Korea, and Sri Lanka, as Buddhist nations that hide high levels of violence & wickedness to each other. But, I really wanted to say I thank you for alerting us that mild-mannered, polite jihadists will turn like Jekyll & Hyde, with virulent violence & devastation. Is it true for all, in fairness, I wish to ask. But in principle, you are doing a good job making us think, ask, look ...

Interesting
Well, Naut, if a "bad Muslim" suddenly decides to become a "good Muslim" by killing us to make up for his sins, and be killed by us for his ticket to paradise, let us punch his ticket immediately. Shoot to kill, do not capture, do not take him to jail. But of course, the police will not follow this policy. They are in enough trouble for shooting people too quickly, LOL. But in this case, that's what is needed, IMHO, among other measures.
